About Uganda
Uganda is about the size of Oregon, but with 41 million people, which is 10 times the amount of Oregon.
Although Uganda is ten times the size, the income per capita is only $630 a year which is around 42 times less than Oregon.
34% are living on less than $2.00 a day. That’s 14 million, about the same amount of people who live in Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Montana combined.
Infant mortality is 5.6% while maternal mortality is 3.4%. Therefore 1 out of every 11 births ends in the death of the mother, infant, or both.
The government in Uganda is inefficient as Uganda is over governed for its level of productivity. The private presidential security and his advisor on average make around 7.5 billion shillings. This is enough to fund over 2000 primary schools. This inefficiency in their government is a huge reason why advancements in the government are so slow. When you donate, your money does not go through their governmental system and goes goes either to the building of an epilepsy clinic, maternity ward, or our malaria awareness programs.
Top killers include:
Malaria, Respiratory infections, Intestinal worms, and Dysentery,
They are all Treatable and Preventable, and MCMC Uganda is an organization that strives to treat and prevent these problems as much as possible. We are currently working on funding for a van to open a maternity ward to help reduce the infant and maternal mortality rate in Uganda.
